It's a dream! Yes - for the 25-year-old LADY TOM, this
dream proves to be pure reality every single morning. Since
she was 16, this Swiss girl from the canton of Argovia has
been in the fast lane. Her career began at a private party
when she was ten years old: in party spirit, she positioned
herself behind the mixing console and the two record players
and proceeded to deliver her own personal mix. The party was
a hit! Since then, she’s been living for her passion being a
DJ. The tempo of the beat, the throbbing bass and the
various styles of techno music have all become a major part
of her life.
The lady didn’t just make a good presentation in disc terms:
she’s also eminently photogenic. Modelling agencies took
their cue and have photographed her for Opel, L'Oréal,
Nestlé and Schwarzkopf advertising campaigns. Since the
beginning of 1999, when she finished her business school
course, she’s also been a successful music producer. Her
first single, “It's a dream”, was recorded together with the
two hit producers Heinemann and Kaiser. This
trance-influenced disc secured her a place in all the DJ
charts; it even managed to leap into the Media Control
Charts in Germany. This success has made her a household
word in her homeland. LADY TOM is now the most sought-after
DJ in Switzerland, and a brilliant export for everything
concerning the techno and trance music of her country.
Together with successful producer MARC VAN LINDEN, she
reworked the club classic by PROJECT JENS, “Loops & Tings”.
What emerged was a club hymn in a class of its own. “Loops &
Tings 2000” by LADY TOM so impressed the two producers of
the original 1992 version, Jens Mahlstedt and Gerrit
Frerichs of HUMATE, that they themselves made a remix of
their own piece. In mid-April, just in time for Mayday, the
track was published on the Internet. Straight after this,
she appeared as a DJ at the MAYDAY. The next big event was
the LOVEPARADE in Berlin.
With the maxi-single "House of House", which includes "Loops
& Tings 2000", and her debut album Wild Child, she’s now
broken through to the international scene. The album is a
double CD, including a CD-ROM part and Lady Tom’s videos!
Lady Tom produced the album in collaboration with Marc van
Linden, who’s already had many dance projects on the charts
under his own name. In June 2001, this out-and-out creative
Swiss managed to engage the largest Swiss production and
marketing company, Warner Music Switzerland – a move that
led to the successful release of a mixed compilation under
the title of “Summerrevolution”. With great tact and
sensitivity, she mixes together the most popular numbers.
from the clubs. What’s next? The success story continues
with a piece about mobility, namely the maxi-single
"Starway".
Since 1999 Lady Tom has been a partner of Opel, who have
supported and promoted her in numerous sponsoring
activities. As a car fan, Lady Tom loves driving her
silver-grey Opel Astra Turbo Coupé. As a DJ, she spends a
lot of time at the wheel, zipping from place to place, happy
when she can show up on time to put on music for her fans.
She covers something like 70,000 kilometres a year in her
Opel Astra and it’s never let her down. Lady Tom really
values the reliability of this vehicle, and thanks to its
high performance she always reaches her destination in
cheerful spirits – to the delight of her many fans. In early
spring 2002, the first VIVA CLUB ROTATION CD, vol. 1, came
out, mixed and compiled by Lady Tom! The coolest and most
popular songs of the hit broadcast Club Rotation, and
including one of her own current tracks, "Recycling Time"
from the maxi-single “Starway”. These tracks were recorded
in collaboration with the successful producer Marco “Reverb”
La Guardia, known for such projects as Flutlicht, Shokk,
etc.
Her most recent production, "UP IN THE AIR", is a project
with DJ Slideout and Lacargo. A highly promising track. It’s
worth listening to.
A big THANK YOU to all MY fans! Your support and
encouragement always inspires me to go for new things! You
are the best! I love you all!

Lady Tom |
